Today we will have a look and find out how we can get the Whitney Houston look via her eternal smokey eye.

Design the shape: Apply a foundation over your lid. With your fingers, apply a shimmery shadow preferably using a colour close to your skin tone. Layer on a gray shadow from your lash line to the crease.

Create the line: Using a dark green (taupe) or a brown eye pencil, trace around your eyes, a dark line/shadow. Blend it. If you choose to add false eyelashes, you need to apply some black eyeliner just above your natural lashes and apply mascara (transparent or black) on them in order to give them a curly finish.

Open your eyes: A light and shimmery shadow applied just on the inner corner of your eye will enhance them.

Visual depth and false eye lashes application: Take your false eye lashes out of the box. Trim them according to your eye size and personal taste, before using. Spread a very thin layer of the eyelash adhesive on your hand then onto the eye lash trip. You can apply the false eye lash just above your natural ones; remember to apply them as close as possible to your natural eye lash line. If necessary readjust the false eye lashes and press them to make them firm. Once your eyelash adhesive is completely dry, reapply your black eye liner where gaps are appearing between your natural eye lashes and the false ones. To finish, apply two layers of black mascara onto your false eye lashes. Brush your eyebrows

Eyeshadows create depth in the eyes. Liquid eyeshadows, eyeshadow pencils or eyeshadow in powder; they should preferably always be applied in pairs colors or in three shades ; to maximize the impact of the optical effect.

In all cases, to apply the eyeshadow, you will need a sponge applicator. The most suitable colours on brown eyes are green, bronze, chocolate, champagne. For black eyes, we would suggest the same colours and we could also add lime green, turquoise and fuschia.

There are different types of eyeliners: among them the liquid eyeliner, the cake eyeliner, the soft eyeliner pencil and the felt tip eyeliner are the most common on the cosmetic market. As applying eyeliner needs a lot of practice to excel the liquid eyeliner is the most used nowadays as it seems to be the easier to manage. The cake eyeliner was until few decades, nearly exclusively used by make-up artists because of its practicability. The two others categories require to be put carefully on the eyes and are also a good asset to create an optical effect on your face.
