Choosing the right denim is a valuable skill as jeans are a long term investment. Today we will set up few rules to apply when considering a new pair of jeans.

Always go for the best quality, a denim with a second-hand look, tends to appear a size larger. Washing and bleaching denim aims at creating a certain style (cowboy look). It is useful to wash as much as you like a pair of jeans you would like to style, just avoid over washing jeans with too many details if you do not wish to ruin them.

With a wide waistband, you can easily hide a “capricious” tummy. In regards to the sizes and placement of you pockets, if you prefer reducing your back, always go for big pockets and preferably not far apart. Jeans with visible side pockets should be worn by women with few hips.

Most body types look good if wearing a slight flare hem. Choosing long jeans is helpful if you plan to elongate your legs.

Ra! Productions in association with Afrikan Image Ltd are putting together a fashion extravaganza to showcase African inspired designs like never before.

The theme for this year’s Kouture Afrika UK show is “Transitions”. From traditional to contemporary designs, this is a celebration of African designs as it transformed through the times, the changes, the staples, the adaptations, a celebration of the beauty from the continent as seen through the eyes of her fashion designers. On the 29th of November 2008, there will be music, comedy, live performances, raffle, food and best of all ladies and gentlemen of course, a chance to shop till you drop. Exhibitions and a market place will be available all day.
