Today we will consider the benefits of wearing a shawl, a wrap or a cape, which can allow my hands to be free while keeping me warm and glamorous. Different forms for different needs are available: the capelet, the stole, the bolero or the shrugs all have consistency when it comes to enhance our style. Shrugs are a good option if you need to attend formal events: they reveal your chest, have sleeves to allow movements and are available in faux fur (if you are an eco-minded lady). The bolero works like a small cardigan: in cashmere and/or velvet for this season, very-tailored and stylish, a must have! The stole is useful if you need to focus on your face or if you seek a versatile option: worn with denim or satin, can easily adorn a short neck, good value.

The capelet is an evening alternative to shrugs: for a glamorous and ageless chic, can replace jewellery if worn with a straight line evening outfit.

42-18712865Investing in a good piece of jewellery is a fashion statement. Being aware of how to choose diamond, is a key skill to master. 10 percent of an American annual salary will be spent on an engagement ring. The four Cs are the rule to follow. The Carat is the diamond’s overall weight. Carat weight, on its own, does not give the value of a diamond, you should always check with a jeweller, if the carat is 1/5 of a gram. The Clarity is used to work out the imperfections of a piece of diamond. The Colour is linked to the amount of yellow, brown or white, the stone contains. Whiter the stone appears, better its quality is. The Cut is a reference to the stone’s shape or facets; a jeweller can get more into details http://www.jewellerylondon.com/

1950s, 1970s, 1980s, eternal and unconditional vintage pieces, wearing rare accessories is hot, trendy and sofisticate. Knowing what is a good investment is showing a great natural taste and chic.

Buying vintage bags stands you out of the crowd, costing less than an average brand new version, they will definitively redefine your visual perception adding a touch of ageless style.

Investing in jewelry and particularly those which have been set up as costumes, will give you an authentique look: you cannot be wrong as old pieces are classics.

Always on the spot, the 1980s belts and clutches, timeless and and oversized, they dress you up in few minutes.

Avoid scuffs, stains on bags, less likely to be fixed once damaged, no needs to spend on what you cannot fix.

The traditional black opaques are out once again, having them in purple, or any other neutral colours, can add a bit of fantasy if worn with a dress by a student…

The floral lace are good alternative to the coloured opaques if presented with a romantic or bohemian look. The crochets this year are everywhere. Stylish and trendy, neutrals are welcome like brown, olive, plum, dark grey and black. If you need to make a gentle statement then try printed tights, fantastic with a winter skirt made of solid fabric.
